Debate about #1 in BL recently
I don't need Isagi to surpass Rin in a 1 vs 1 or BL stats. I just need him to win the WC. After all Rin can be considered #1 in BL and Isagi be the catalyst for the WC win. Remember the "What" and the "How". Ego says it himself in chapter 1 that he was hired to win a WC for Japan (the What), and then adds that he'll achieve that by creating the world's best striker (the How). That's why I like su much Isagi's purest ego "to win", he may never surpass Rin from a physical abilities standpoint, that doesn't mean he won't become Japan's chef d'oeuvre, pièce de résistance, tour de force that will bring the WC home ᡣ𐭩𐃯ᡣ𐭩
Depending on how he performs and succeeds during the WC, he may become the world's best striker.
