Whatever happened to the Syndicate Lounge on 20th Street S? They used to put on some damn good concerts, and what I heard they were supposed to be closing temporarily for renovations, but ended up closing permanently.

I was a teenager when I visited and I witnessed some amazing concerts from the likes of Crowbar, Obituary, The Faceless/After The Burial, Plini (who hosted a guitar clinic there with a few guests such as I who were fortunate enough to spring for VIP tickets, along with Intervals' Aaron Marshall), and I even missed a show featuring an up-and-coming Pouya hosted at the Syndicate Lounge in 2017.

They were a tiny dive bar but they had all age shows but not all age drinking of course, the shows and bar took place on the second floor of the tiny building with admission at the bottom, separated by two flights of stairs. The real heavy bands had the power to make the building appear as if it were going to collapse, with part of the ceiling actually falling on me during Obituary's set. I miss it. What caused it to close? Any good spots to catch heavy live music I haven't heard of? (I've visited Iron City, the Firehouse, Zydeco, Saturn, and Ministry is coming to Avondale Brewing soon, thinking about seeing them but never been to Avondale Brewing).
