AITAH for telling a group of one wheel hoverboarders and e-bikers to slow down on the Hugh Kaul - Rotary trail

I (40/m) run regularly on this trail from Trim Tab brewery to Railroad park and back. There are many walkers, runners, people with strollers and dogs. There has been a noticeable increase in one wheel hoverbikes and e-bikes activity on this trail. Now personally happy to share the trail with everybody but there was a group of hoverboarders and mini e-bikers yesterday at 6.30 pm traveling well over 30 mph on the trail in the dark. I was able to spot them early because I was running towards but would have hated to have them come up fast on me from behind. I do understand the need for an adrenaline rush as I also mountain bike but am cognizant of simple etiquettes like slowing down or alerting hikers or runners before passing. I asked one of their group leaders to have the group slow down on the trail or use the regular road for their activity. Was I wrong ?
