Is Grade Reassessment worth it?

So my professor hasn't given me any marks for my group project because I didn't show up to class for 3-4 weeks at the start of the term due to personal reasons. I was emailed by my program head saying I should show up to avoid any issues and I did make sure to attend all the remaining classes. The project is worth a total of 40% of the course and I have contributed my fair share for the said project but without any mark I am literally bound to a failing grade. I have emailed both the professor and the program head but I don't think I will get a reply this week cause of the holidays. There is a 3-week deadline to apply for grade reassessment, will my case be considered? Just praying on some kindness from the professor this Christmas..
