Why is my gas bill so high?
Hi,
I'm at my wit's end with this, I've been trying to resolve this with my energy company OVO (for months now).
I live in a modest 2 bedroom apartment above a restaurant, my gas bill is over £200 each month for gas alone. This month it was £250.
My heating is set to 20deg, and I believe it's set to keep the temperature at that level all day.
My gas meter is a little old, and it's not sending readings so I have to do them manually. I've confirmed the meter is not shared.
I turned off my boiler for a few hours, then looked at the reading and it had not changed, so it looks like somehow I am using all this gas.
I have noticed that the boiler is losing quite a lot of pressure and needs to be re-pressurised fairly regularly. I think there was a few weeks where it was probably running on zero pressure.
Any advice would be welcome, also info on what recourse I would have to get some kind of refund from these bills.
Thanks.
EDIT: I WFH
EDIT 2: I have set the following schedule: * 630am on at 18deg * 8am off at 16deg
- 2pm on at 18deg
4pm off at 16deg
10pm on 18deg
12pm off at 12deg
Let's try this, reddit have basically told me that to not have £250 deg bills in my small apt I have to freeze to death and have the heating off all the time.
