Why didn’t my teacher respond how I wanted?

My teacher was helping me today with something and I said “thank you for helping me with this stuff.” And she didn’t really say anything and was like “you’re welcome” quickly or something. Whenever I try and say something “sweet” she doesn’t really reciprocate. She’s not rude trust me I know she really does care about me cause I know it but whenever I try to show her I care and really like her she doesn’t really reciprocate. I’m not asking her to be SOOO sweet to me back but like usually she’s dry even when she does try to reciprocate. Maybe even blunt? Idk how to explain it. Maybe she’s just that type of person. Is there any of you out there like that? Any of u teachers out there like that?
