Are Internet Trends Promoting the Wrong Role Models and Undermining Noble Pursuits?

How do you feel about the growing trend of individuals with questionable morals, limited knowledge, and little sense of responsibility such as certain celebrities, TV personalities, politicians, and journalists dominating online spaces like Google searches, YouTube trending lists, and social media, gaining fame and fortune? It’s concerning how such content gains attention, while scientific knowledge, logical reasoning, and meaningful pursuits seem to be neglected. Do you think this shift in focus is negatively impacting the younger generation, especially when these figures are far from being good role models? Or am I overthinking/overreacting, and much of what's on the internet and media is simply for entertainment, with people not actually taking it seriously?
