Anyone else struck by the uneven picks for the new cabinet?
I watched pieces of both confirmation hearings for US attorney general and Secretary of defense. Pat Bondi nailed her hearings to the point that democratic senators started asking hypotheticals about the new president and Kash Patel. No questions about SA, alcoholism, leadership skills, cheating on spouses etc. I can’t think of a lot other picks for AG that are more qualified than Bondi. And yet one could randomly pick any Fortune 500 ceo, or any soldier ranked colonel on up, better suited than Hegseth. I almost feel bad for the guy because taking on a new job managing 3 million people while also being an alcoholic is going to be rough on him and the people that serve him. I’ve known people with this disease and it’s heartbreaking.
So is anyone else noticing the uneven choices here? And bonus question if you were president elect who would you chose for secretary of defense?
