Mister Sam and Friends
Yes, I paid a bit more than MSRP, but nowhere near secondary prices.
Cracked the Mister Sam immediately when I got home, let it breathe for a bit, and I was in for a shocker.
Nose: Jumps from the glass with a shockingly strong aroma of jammy fruits, creamy orange zest, herbs, and some spice. Just gets better with swirling.
Palate: Boom. Figs immediately, creamy mouth feel, turning into classic smooth Kentucky bourbon notes, then transitioning to spice, and finishing with red fruits - raspberry and cherry. Fresh uplifting feel on the back of the nose throughout, like fresh mint.
The Canadian whisky is very apparent here, and it tastes like exotic cask finished Canadian whisky perfectly blended with the best Kentucky bourbon. It basically takes the best aspects of Boss Hog IX (Figgy spice pudding), Boss Hog X (sweet exotic cask finish), blends it with a main palette of George T Stagg, with the smooth finish of William Laurie Weller. I don’t know how else to describe this beast.
I ever thought I would see this bottle never the less get to taste it!
