Just moved in 5 days ago and the upstairs neighbors are loud af
Hi, I never planned on posting here because up until now we had a fine experience in our apartments we've lived in. Me (29f) and my husband (31m) just moved into a new apartment complex 5 days ago with our 14 month old son who I stay at home with. Everything has been great so far, no one (besides upstairs) is excessively loud and the area is overall quiet and clean. Anyway, the first night we were here I got woken up at 3am because of loud stomping and running coming from upstairs. This went on for at least a full hour before stopping and I finally was able to go back to sleep in the silence. Thankfully that was only the first night and hasn't happened again, but still. Now every single day since we moved in, from about 8:30/9am all throughout the day up until 11pm the kids upstairs will be stomping and running all over the apartment. (It sounds like they jump off of furniture and fall down a lot as well as running and stomping) It's gotten to the point I'm not sure what I should do about it. I struggle to sleep at night and my baby and my cats get jump scared so badly by these kids stomping around. We just moved in and I don't wanna talk to management just yet because I don't want to seem like I'm trying to cause issues as soon as we get here. I just don't get how some people can't be respectful and take their kids outside (we don't get winter here, we're on the west coast of the US, the coldest it gets is 50°F in winter time and all of February it's been 70°F), sometimes I wonder if the parents even realize how loud their kids are being. I'm just at a stand still on what I should do, my husband thinks I should leave a note on their door but idk what to even say to them. "Hey can you keep your kids quiet and take them to the park to run around or something? Thanks" I'm too socially awkward for this and have never had to deal with something like this 😭
