Has anyone else gotten a low white cell count along with low ferritin?

My ferritin is at 18.9 and I got supplements but he noticed my white blood cell count was low by two numbers and asked if I had a cold or flu, and I was like no but the last time I had an infection was back in December but that was a dental infection and I've had antibiotics since then. Is this just a symptom of my low ferritin and my body taking longer to recover? Doctor didn't seem overly concerned.
