Walking in Vacoped

How on earth does one take even steps in the boot? Just transitioned to FWB at 15 degrees, plan is to lower to 10 in a few days. I'm finding it really hard to take a full step off of the foot in the boot, it is just incredibly awkward. Anyone have any tips?
