Diagnosed as adhd but don’t feel like it

Sorry for being disorganised

I am 23M who is recently diagnosed as adhd(inattentive).

I always think myself as a not dependable person with quite unstable emotions and also lacking in life skills. In my uni years i took up some sort of committee responsibilities and most of them didn’t end well (I either quit or being viewed as freerider). After graduation i work at a university but it is a boring job with almost no colleagues. I want to change to the social service sector but is afraid to make changes.

I didn’t do very bad in my studies but i think i am a stupid person in life and daily situations. I have no sense of direction, I don’t remember well, I am bad at planning, i have silly hands, cant cook a meal, cant make important decisions. I am also unmotivated to think in details and my mind is just lazy. I want to do many things but never able to persist

I so wanted to “have ADHD” so bad before the diagnosis so my problems would get justified, but when i got diagnosed, i suddenly feel like an imposter. My grades wasn’t that bad. Maybe i was faking hard to get diagnosed so i could get excuses? I feel so puzzled. I have taken meds for a week and it feels dizzy anxious and uncomfortable…i am able to focus more but the problems are still here…?

i just worry that I am non-adhd and medication might not be the way for me. Maybe i am just a low-conscientious and high-neurotic person.

TLDR; Been a not responsible and dependable person for life; recently diagnosed as inattentive adhd but feel like an imposter.
