First time playing ACComp

First off I should say I play on a ps5 controller, can’t afford a decent racing sim yet. But damn this game is hard. Really humbling for sure even on rookie for me. I think the main issue is that I do play on controller none of the motions are smooth and even the in game steering wheel just trips out. I haven’t managed to spin out yet but I keep finding myself going into walls. I likely can’t get a sim till Christmas so what’s the best budget option and is there any controller options that can help me currently.
