What do drivers do with the time off per day?

I recently obtained my Class A CDL and considering driving soon. If I understand, drivers can only drive 11 hours per day which would give the driver 13 hours off. If I sleep 8 hours that gives me 5 hours of not driving per day. What do drivers do in that 5 hours? is one of those hours the pre-trip and post-trip inspection combined? If so then closer to 4 hours free time? Or am I missing something else?

Edit: I forgot that a driver can drive after 10 hours. What do drivers who don't go home do with their 34 hours of reset?

I'm hoping I will be able to spend time on my laptop creating educational Virtual Reality experiences for learning institutions and tutorials in my down time. I'm also an artist so I'll probably be creating artwork, as well.
