Denmark is my favourite country in Europe :D
I came to Denmark for the first time, having no prior knowledge of the country. I came here blindly. I rented a bike for the day and tried to make most of it. Throughout the day I cycled through the city's most famous landmarks, hidden gems, and even made a spontaneous trip to Hamlet’s Castle. From the Little Mermaid statue to the colorful streets of Nyhavn, I explored as much as I could—sometimes struggling, sometimes in awe. 🚴♂️
I started cycling to Hamlet's castle in northen Denmark on a city bike and it was one of the most irresponsible decisions I've ever made.
It took over 4 hours - on a city bike. I did not eat at all that day and I didn't sleep enough. I was shaking, I was weak and I almost fainted.
The police stopped me in the middle of the night because I was on my phone and they were talking about how illegal it is. I started crying from stress because my phone was about to die and I don't know where I am and how to get back to Copenhagen. But eventually I made it back. I told them about 10 times how embarassing it is for me - a grown man to be crying haha
But, Copenhagen completely exceeded my expectations with its clean streets, bike-friendly culture, and welcoming atmosphere. This was easily my favorite cities in Europe! Also so many kind people.. wow I'm just blown away.
